Akepox 1005 Crack Filler is a two-component epoxy resin solution for securely sealing pores and cracks that is extremely fluid and contains a modified amine hardener.
It is ideally suited for light natural stone, clear and transparent, and hardens rather quickly. It's low viscosity gives it highly penetrative qualities.
Features
:
Solvent-free
Weather-resistant : Has superior grinding and polishing qualities, and makes natural stone surfaces firmer and better.
Enhances production and yield : when used correctly, the hardened product is regarded as safe for human health since it forms bonds between natural and artificial stone when it comes into touch with food.
Specification

Form Factor : Liquid
Surface of Application : Stone
Chemical Type : Epoxy
Applications
:
In the stone processing sector, Akepox 1005 is primarily used to improve the surface properties of concrete, ashlar, and porous and fissured natural stone slabs. It is also used to reinforce brittle natural stone slabs when combined with spun glass textiles. When exposed to UV light or heat, the hardened product has a slight propensity to turn yellow.
Instructions for use :
The stone slabs that need to be treated must be dry and clean, and they must be pre-calibrated based on their nominal thickness.
The penetrative capacity of the product will be significantly enhanced if the stone's surface is pre-warmed (60°C to 70°C).
Mix one part by weight of Component B (for example, 100 g and 25 g) well with four parts by weight of Component A until there are no more streaks in the mixture. A dosing and mixing device for Akepok products makes handling big quantities easier. Alternatively, seven parts by volume of Component A should be combined with two parts by volume of Component B (for example, 175 ml and 50 ml).
If necessary, Akepox coloring concentrates or stone ink (up to 5%) can be used for coloring.
Using a fine-toothed spreader, apply the mixture to the entire surface; if there are wider fissures or areas of increased absorption, apply more than once. The combination is usable for about 20 to 30 minutes at 20°C. Before applying Akepok 1005, cracks on the back that run all the way through the stone must be sealed.
After about a day at room temperature, the surfaces can be polished and ground. Slabs of natural stone that have been preheated to 60°C for about three hours and then cooled can be polished and ground.
The grinding and polishing segments should have a maximum contact pressure of 1 to 1.5 bar.
The Akepox Universal Thinner can be used to clean tools.
The hardening process is sped up by warmth and slowed down by cold.
