Description
The Chaff/Grass Cutter is a device used for cutting hay, straw and other plant products for the purpose of preparation of animal fodder. This device automates the fodder preparation process and reduces the labour required in preparing fodder for animal. The machine cuts the raw materials which are used for fodder into small uniform pieces which aids digestion in cattle and livestock and prevents them from rejecting any part of their meal. The machine requires a 1.5-3 HP electric motor, has 4 high quality cutting blades which helps in achieving the cutting capacity of 300-500 kilos (Dry grass) and 500-1000 kilos for (Green grass).
Features
:
Efficient Cutting Mechanism: The chaff cutter is equipped with sharp blades that ensure precise and uniform cutting, reducing wastage and ensuring better feed digestibility for livestock.
Durability and Material Quality: The machine is constructed from robust materials, providing longevity and resistance to wear and tear in demanding agricultural environments.
Ease of Operation: Designed for user-friendliness, it can be operated with minimal training, often featuring simple controls that enhance operational efficiency.
Specification
:
Brand: Generic (Imported)
Weight (Approx.) : 48 kg
Material : Mild Steel
Required Motor : 1.5 - 3HP ( Machine without motor )
The machine requires a motor ranging from 1.5 - 3 HP to conduct it's cutting operations. The motor is not included with this machine.
Usage
:
1. Check the Machine:
Before each use, inspect the following:
Blades: Ensure they are sharp and properly secured. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately.
Gearbox: Check for any leaks or unusual noises. Ensure it’s properly lubricated.
Bolts and Fasteners: Ensure all bolts, nuts, and fasteners are tight.
Guards and Shields: Verify that all safety guards and shields are in place and undamaged.
Power Cord: Inspect for any fraying or damage.
2. Prepare the Work Area: Choose a flat, stable, and well-lit area for operation. Clear the area of any obstructions or debris. Be aware of the location of the power source.
3. Prepare the Fodder: Gather the fodder you intend to chop. Separate it into manageable bundles. Remove any stones, metal, or other foreign objects.
4. Position the Fodder: Feed the fodder into the designated feeding chute or hopper according to the machine's instructions. Don't force it through; let the machine draw it in naturally.
5. Start the Motor: With the safety precautions in place, turn on the power and start the motor.
6. Monitor the Cutting Process: Observe the cutting process carefully. If the machine makes unusual noises or struggles to cut, stop immediately and inspect the machine.
7. Adjust if Needed: The chaff cutter has controls for adjusting the cutting size, adjust it according to your requirement.
8. Keep the Feeding Consistent: Maintain a steady flow of fodder into the machine to ensure a consistent output. Avoid overfeeding, as this can cause jamming.
9. Stop the Machine Correctly: Once the work is complete, allow the machine to run empty. Then, turn off the power at the source. Don’t just yank the cord out of the outlet.
10. Clean the Machine: Once the blades have come to a complete stop and the power is disconnected, carefully clean the machine. Remove any remaining fodder from the cutting chamber. Use a brush or compressed air to clear debris.
Maintenance:
Regular Inspections: Conduct regular checks on the chaff cutter parts. Pay particular attention to bolts and nuts; if any are loose, tighten them immediately to prevent operational issues.
Lubrication: Every part of the chaff cutter requires lubrication. Clean the components thoroughly before adding lithium grease. Ensure that the gearbox is lubricated with oil every season, while the main bearing should be lubricated at least once a year.
Dust Removal: When adding lubricating oil, it is crucial to remove any dust or debris to avoid contamination that could impair functionality.
Wear and Deformation Checks: Regularly check all parts for signs of wear or deformation. If any issues are identified, replace those parts promptly to maintain safe operation.
Applications
:
Fodder Preparation & Nutritional Enhancements: The Chaff cutter helps in the preparation of fodder for animals. The materials are cut into uniform pieces which retain the required nutrients in it.
Ensures Animal Health: As the chaff cutter helps in achieving uniform cutting size of the plant products which are used as fodder for the animals. It ensures that the animals don't reject any part of their meal which aids the digestion of the animals and is considered appropriate for their health and well-being.
Feed Cost Management: The cost incurred behind purchasing feed for cattle is saved by using the chaff cutter, as it acts as a lone fodder production machinery and helps in converting green waste into fodder for cattle and other animals.
