The soil organic carbon detection kit is used to check the status of soil organic carbon in the soil. Soil organic carbon content up to 1.5 to 2.0% increases soil porosity that supports growth of the soil microorganisms. This increases the availability of different nutrients to the plant, resulting in better crop yield. Thus organic carbon is a true indicator of the soil's health. Also, it is a proven fact that soil having sufficient organic carbon will definitely have a proper content of other major elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Knowing the pH level of your soil is essential to ensuring optimal plant growth. pH test results will guide you in the decision whether and how much the soil needs supplements, like fertilizers and soil pH adjusters.
Features
:
Kit is user-friendly, as any farmer himself can perform this on the field.
It gives quick and reliable results.
Evaluates the impact of organic carbon amendments supplemented periodically.
It gives an idea of the amount of organic manure additions necessary for better yield.
Highly economical as compared with other standard laboratory methods.

Applications
:
This will be highly useful for farmers, state and central government Agri projects, Agri-institutes, KVK’s, ICAR Labs, Pvt organizations, and other organisations working towards organic farming and soil conservation.
Usage
:
After the soil sample is prepared, solution A is mixed with soil to extract the organic carbon from the soil, B is added to increase the extraction efficiency, and a coloured complex is formed. This coloured complex formed is the direct proportion to the organic content of the soil. A color chart is provided to match the soil sample solution to indicate the approximate amount of manure/compost to be added to the soil.
